The knowledge and technical expertise mastered by inventors nowadays is amazing. Being involved in translating these astonishing findings into patenting language, motivates me to stretch my talent and exploit every bit of scientific thinking once gained at the university. Surprisingly enough, the assignments so far have touched organic, inorganic, technical, polymer, physical, pharmaceutical, nano, paper and clinical chemistry, as well as genetic engineering, biochemistry and biotechnology, and more technical fields and applications I ever could imagine!
Over the past 25 years, both I and the patent industry have evolved significantly. Major changes in the field inevitably create uncertainty, but they also challenge experts to think creatively and to identify the most effective ways for companies to leverage patents. Patents can be used in many different ways and for many different strategic purposes - within the legal framework and established case law, of course!
