Patent professional since 2019, with Espatent since 2019.
I work as a European and Finnish Patent Attorney, advising clients on how to protect and maximize the value of innovations in chemistry and biotechnology. I collaborate closely with clients throughout the entire patent lifecycle from novelty searches and drafting patent applications to managing communications with patent authorities and handling post‑grant matters. My work has focused particularly on inventions in chemistry, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, enzyme technologies, proteomics, nucleic acid technologies, immunotherapeutics, nutrition, and biomaterials, while I have also gained experience with device‑related inventions.
Before entering the patent profession, I built a strong academic background. I hold a Ph.D. in molecular and vascular molecular biology and cell signaling from the Medical University of Vienna, and I spent more than a decade working on biomedical research projects across Europe. My research focused on therapeutic molecule development, regulation of cell signaling, and treatment strategies for immunological diseases. In addition, I have experience in in vitro diagnostics regulation, stem cell research, and proteomics.
Working in the patent field allows me to combine scientific expertise with business insight to support the commercial success of our clients’ innovations. I enjoy the constant challenges this role offers and the opportunity to apply my broad knowledge in a practical way that benefits our clients.
